Get your FirstCue number
When your account is set up, we give you a dedicated FirstCue number. This is the number your calls will forward to — your customers never see it, and you keep your existing business line.
You'll find your FirstCue number at the top of your dashboard and in your welcome email.
Turn on conditional call forwarding
"Conditional" forwarding means calls only roll to FirstCue when you don't answer or your line is busy/off — your phone still rings first, every time.
How you switch it on depends on your carrier and line type — mobile carriers, VoIP systems, and landlines each do it differently. You don't need to work that out on your own. When you sign up we send you your dedicated FirstCue number and walk you through the exact steps for your line, then stay on it until a test call rolls through correctly.
Stuck or unsure which type of line you have? Email support@firstcue.ai and we'll set it up with you on a quick call.
Choose who gets notified
In your dashboard, open Settings → Who gets notified and add the people who should get each new job. For each person, set the email address their job alerts go to.
- Add the owner, a front-desk person, a shared inbox — anyone. They don't need an account.
- Every new job and emergency goes out as an instant email alert.
- Use the dashboard summary to review calls, service requests, and value.
Test it — let it ring
Call your own business line from another phone and don't pick up. After a few rings it should roll to FirstCue, which answers and runs the intake. Confirm you get the alert email.
Watch the first few calls
For the first day or two, check the dashboard and listen to a couple of recordings to make sure the intake sounds right for your business. Anything you'd word differently, tell us — we tune the script for you.
Stuck on the forwarding step?
It's the one part that's carrier-specific. Call us and we'll set it up with you in a few minutes.
